Horton Plains

Horton Plains

The Horton Plains is a national park and one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the world. It is located in the central highlands of Sri Lanka at an altitude of over two thousand meters above sea level. Deer, sambar deer, jackals, and leopards live here, as well as numerous species of migratory birds.

The main attraction of the park is the ‘World’s End’ viewpoint, a rugged cliff that drops vertically by 328 meters and then by another 1312 meters. The plateau is also known as the ‘Devil’s Staircase’. The view that opens up from here is among the most impressive in all of Sri Lanka.
