Introduction of the Abu Dhabi “Green Pass” protocol for attractions and hotels on Yas Island
Please note that since June 15, 2021, all guests of hotels and leisure attractions on Yas Island aged 16 and older must comply with the “Green Pass” protocol throughout the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. This applies to:
– Hotels on Yas Island – Theme parks: Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi – CLYMB™ Abu Dhabi – Yas Mall – Yas Marina Circuit – Yas Beach – Yas Links – Yas Marina
I am a tourist – do I also have to show a Green Pass? Yes. Tourists must also download the ALHOSN UAE app. Tourists can register in the app with their UID number – this is issued by the immigration authorities upon entry and can be found in the entry stamp in the passport or on the visa page. If it is not visible, it can also be requested at the airport at immigration.
What is the Green Pass? The Green Pass in the ALHOSN UAE app is a color-coded system that shows:
Abu Dhabi has been using the Green Pass since June 15, 2021, for access control to public places throughout the Emirate.
How long is the Green Pass valid? The validity period depends on the vaccination status and the recency of the PCR test. There are six categories:
Fully vaccinated (2nd dose ≥ 28 days ago) – negative PCR test valid for 30 days
Fully vaccinated (2nd dose < 28 days ago) – negative PCR test valid for 14 days
1st dose received, waiting for 2nd dose – negative PCR test valid for 7 days
1st dose received, 2nd dose overdue by ≥ 42 days – negative PCR test valid for 3 days
Medical exemption from vaccination – negative PCR test valid for 7 days
How is the Green Pass checked? Upon entry to all attractions on Yas Island, staff will check the Green Pass in the ALHOSN app. We strongly recommend activating the app before arriving at the park to avoid delays.
My app does not show the vaccination status – is a negative PCR test sufficient? No. Access is only possible with a valid Green Pass in the app. We recommend resolving technical issues in advance. It is possible to add multiple people (via Emirates ID or passport number) on one smartphone in the app.
Do children under 16 years of age have to show a Green Pass? No. The rule only applies to those 16 and older. Proof of age (ID or passport) is required.
Does the Green Pass replace previous safety measures? No. In addition to the Green Pass, the following still apply:
– Temperature checks at the entrance – Maintaining social distancing – Mandatory mask-wearing
These measures remain valid in all hotels, theme parks, and attractions on Yas Island.
