This trip takes you deep into the forests of the Troodos Mountains. You will experience breathtaking landscapes and untouched places in Cyprus that are rarely visited by tourists. You will get to know the flora and fauna of the island. It is a wonderful opportunity to hike through shady mountain forests and bathe in cool mountain springs. You will also taste the local cuisine and probably the best wine in Cyprus.
Pano Panagia Village: You will visit the village, the home of the first President of Cyprus – Archbishop Makarios. You will visit the Monastery of Panagia Chryssoroyiatissa, which is considered one of the most picturesque and finest on the island. You will walk through the old stone courtyard, visit the church, and the museum. Afterward, you will drive into the depths of the Paphos Forest – one of the quietest and most majestic regions of the Troodos – and see the centuries-old Cypriot cedars. You will also visit the famous Kykkos Monastery, founded in 1092, which houses one of the miraculous icons of the Virgin Mary. Here you can venerate the icon as well as the holy relics, of which the monastery holds the largest collection in Cyprus.
After lunch, you will continue your journey through the forests of the Troodos until you reach the next village.
Omodos Village: You will stop in a traditional Cypriot village known for its narrow alleys, stone houses, hospitable residents, and the Monastery of the Holy Cross. You will have plenty of time to stroll through the picturesque alleys and taste the local wine.
