During the day, you will have the opportunity to get to know the “ancestor” of Famagusta – the ancient city of Salamis. It impresses with its mighty Venetian fortress walls, the famous Othello Tower, the famous Famagusta Gate, and its narrow historical alleys. You will also learn the history of one of the most significant Gothic churches in Cyprus – the Cathedral of Saint Nicholas, where the Cypriot kings were crowned. The magnificently preserved building now serves as the functioning Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque.
You will have free time to browse local shops, try oriental sweets, or enjoy aromatic oriental coffee. Afterwards, you can take a dip in the azure waters of the Salamis coast.
