Nusa Dua is one of the most exclusive and well-planned resort areas in Bali – an ideal place for an idyllic vacation. Thanks to a thoughtful, controlled development plan, both the unique cultural life and the natural landscape of the region have been fully preserved.
The luxurious resort complex is located at the southern end of Bali on the Bukit Peninsula. Along the carefully designed coastline, there are tropical gardens, wide beaches with fine golden sand, and numerous top-class hotel facilities.
In Nusa Dua, there are more than ten 5-star hotels, characterized by large green spaces, private beaches, pools, tennis courts, and a wide selection of restaurants and bars. Nusa Dua was specifically designed to provide the highest level of comfort for discerning guests seeking relaxation.
However, away from the central shopping and entertainment area, there are few local facilities: no markets, no traditional Balinese villages, and hardly any street stalls. The center of the resort is modern, elegant, and strongly focused on resort guests.
Just north of Nusa Dua lies Tanjung Benoa – a narrow headland with many hotels, restaurants, and water sports centers. Originally a fishing village, the town today combines a traditional atmosphere with a wide range of activities.
While many hotels in Nusa Dua offer water sports, prices in Tanjung Benoa are usually cheaper, and the selection is larger. Most excursion and fishing trips also depart from here.
The beaches of Nusa Dua, on the other hand, are ideal for a quiet beach holiday, sunbathing, and relaxed enjoyment of the luxurious hotel facilities. You can reach the resort’s surf spots by boat from a designated jetty near the former Bali Hilton (now Ayodya Resort).
Hotels provide daily updated tide tables – important for anyone who wants to swim or surf, as the sea can sometimes recede for hundreds of meters.
The Bali Golf and Country Club offers an 18-hole championship course that stretches across three different landscape zones of the region – a highlight for golf enthusiasts.
Authentic Balinese cuisine can be found primarily in the traditional warungs in Tanjung Benoa, especially along the main road, Jalan Pratama. Here, inexpensive, authentic dishes are served, and numerous seafood restaurants are offered.
In the resorts of Nusa Dua and the Bali Collection shopping center (Galleria), there are modern restaurants with international cuisine – high-quality culinary offerings, but at a higher price point. Free Balinese dance shows also take place regularly on the premises.
The Beluga Marina restaurant in Tanjung Benoa also offers dinner shows with traditional dance performances every evening.
For souvenirs, there are small boutiques in every hotel, but the most important shopping center is the Bali Collection (Galleria) in the heart of Nusa Dua.
Here you will find: – Handicrafts and coconut products – Branded goods (e.g., Reebok) – A large supermarket – A duty-free area
The Bali Collection also serves as a central stage for cultural events.
