The city does not have any particular sights, but that does not stop it from receiving a huge number of tourists. As is well known, the city lives today from tourism and free trade zones.
Near La Romana lies the tourist zone of Bayahibe – a picturesque fishing village consisting of small, colorful wooden houses.

Just a few minutes from Casa de Campo lies Altos de Chavón, an artificially recreated medieval Italian town. There is a design school there (a branch of the Parsons Institute of Design in New York), the Church of St. Stanislaus, where Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley were married. In this small town, there is also an amphitheater with 5,000 seats. Frank Sinatra, Julio Iglesias, Sting, Enrique Iglesias, Plácido Domingo, and other celebrities have performed there.
Every day, numerous excursions depart from the coasts of Bayahibe to the islands of the Caribbean (Isla Saona and Isla Catalina), which are located in the East National Park. Pelicans, sea turtles, dolphins, flying fish, and other representatives of flora and fauna delight the eyes of even the most experienced tourist.
