Day 1

Madrid

Arrival at Madrid airport. Welcome at the airport.

Group transfer to the hotel and check-in.

Dinner (for the premium package).

Day 2

Madrid – Burgos – Pamplona

Breakfast.

Drive to Burgos – capital of the medieval Kingdom of Castile. Walk through the historic center with an exterior view of the Burgos Cathedral.

Continue to Pamplona – capital of Navarre, known for the San Fermín festival (running of the bulls).

City tour of the city that Ernest Hemingway made famous in his novel “The Sun Also Rises” :

Bullring
Plaza del Castillo

Check-in at the hotel.

Day 3

Pamplona – San Sebastián – Bilbao

Breakfast.

Drive to San Sebastián, which is described as the “Pearl of the Bay of Biscay” and “Little Paris” .

Walk through the city center.

After lunch, continue to Bilbao – an important cultural and economic center of the Basque Country:

Guggenheim Museum
Old Town
Gran Vía
Nervión River promenade

City walk and free time to visit the Guggenheim Museum (optional).

Check-in at the hotel.

Day 4

Bilbao – Santillana del Mar – Comillas – Oviedo

Breakfast.

Drive to Santillana del Mar – one of the most beautiful towns in Spain.

You will see:

historic noble palaces
medieval alleys
authentic atmosphere of Cantabria

Continue with a stop in Comillas to view the Art Nouveau architecture, including the famous villa El Capricho by Antoni Gaudí.

Drive to Oviedo – capital of Asturias (a city that director Woody Allen loved very much).

City tour.

For the premium package:

Visit to a traditional cider production facility with tasting.

Check-in at the hotel.

Day 5

Oviedo – La Coruña – Santiago de Compostela

Breakfast.

Drive to La Coruña – the largest city in Galicia.

Tour of the beach promenade and stop at the Tower of Hercules – the oldest lighthouse in the world still in operation.

Continue to Santiago de Compostela – one of the most important pilgrimage centers in the world, where the relics of the Apostle James are located.

Recommendation:

Try the Galician cuisine, especially:

octopus
Albariño white wine

Dinner in a traditional restaurant with octopus tasting.

Check-in at the hotel.

Day 6

Santiago de Compostela – León

Breakfast.

Drive to León – an ancient city that was already an important trading center during the Roman Empire.

Visit to historic medieval sights.

Free time.

Check-in at the hotel.

Day 7

León – Madrid

Breakfast.

Drive to Madrid with a lunch break (for the Premium package).

City tour of Madrid:

Prado and Recoletos boulevards
Cibeles Fountain
Calle Alcalá
Plaza de Colón (Columbus Square)
Royal Palace
Puerta del Sol

Free time to visit the Prado Museum or the Thyssen Museum (optional).
